The Mergo's Chief Attendant is an enemy in Bloodborne. They are a unique type of enemy, and only three can be found in the game. They are found around the Nightmare of Mensis area; inside the castle's archives from Mergo's Loft: Base lamp, and in Mergo's Loft: Middle. They wield a giant cleaver in the right hand and a chain in the left, and will use both weapons to attack.
Mergo's Chief Attendants aren't noticeably more difficult than other heavy enemies. One must be aware that she can call in help from nearby Mergo's Attendants and that her attacks build up Rapid Poisoning.
Mergo's Chief Attendant Information
These enemies have no variations, and the only existing type in the game are equipped with cleaver and chain. One guards a shortcut elevator, together with two crossbow attendants, and another will patrol the section after the curved double staircase.
A third chief attendant can be found in the area where the Micolash fight takes place, at the bottom of the spiral staircase where a Moon rune (or Madman's Knowledge) can be found.
Strategy
- Parrying her while she brings the cleaver down is the most effective way to dispose of this enemy. This attack has a large parry window and is very slow.
- Heavy weapons stagger her easily. You may have to dodge first as her chain strike is fast.

I think the term "Matron" is suitable for these creatures, and I prefer it to "Nanny". A matron is an authority figure to children at a boarding school, well known for scaring the crap out of misbehaving kids who are wandering out places they shouldn't be, especially at night. It has more stern and intimidating connotations. Maternity is, of course, one of BB's biggest themes. But I don't think these enemies act particularly nurturing. I don't think any name that suggests "caregiver" is appropriate for these guys. I vote "Iron Matron", or some variant, based on this and the breastplate/chain. I'd like to hear other people's thoughts!
Fire prelate armor won't drop wat do
