Keeper's Hunting Dog is an enemy in Bloodborne. None can mistake Yharnam's ordinary hunting dogs for these beasts whom accompany the Keepers in the depths of the labyrinth. They are instantly recognizable by their black fur and glowing red eyes. Singularly vicious, a pair of them can easily overwhelm the hardiest of hunters. Oh... they also breathe fire.

Strategy

  • Keeper's Hunting Dogs often patrol in pairs. Focus on dodging or they will quickly stunlock you to death.
  • Like normal dogs, they are sent reeling by firearms as well as the chikage's two-handed stance. This can give you breathing room in a pinch.
  • Beware of facing them head on as you'll fight 3 tough foes at once, consider baiting one with projectiles/pebbles.
  • They are very good at stunlocking you and they have hyper poise when they stand on their hind legs.
  • Avoid their standing attacks at all costs and counter from range or their flanks.
  • Dodge behind Keeper's Hunting Dogs immediately upon engaging them to quickly score two attacks. Repeating this can put a single hunting dog down with reduced risk.

Hardest dog enemy in any From game hands down, Honestly might be one of the hardest regular enemies in any of their games imo. Even knowing you can shoot them if they get close enough to get a hit off they will chain you and lunge at you even if you dodge, i swear to god they also knock you out of attacks all the time too and at that point you are just dead. God forbid trying to fight more than one at a time. One of the few enemies that when i see them i have to lock in and drastically alter my play style to deal with them. At least they don't have a **** ton of HP but they demand a lot of focus.

Worst From Software dog by a long shot, these guys are awful, no time to dodge or replicate, not even talking about cursed dungeons...

those soul-like doggo are the worst i've encounter...leaving you no time to get a gunshot(in my opinion the only way for them to "play dead")

          • Toss a bloody cocktail at them and you should be able to kill them long before they agro you. Don't be a scrub and get hit by their cleave. Fore paper for good measure. EzPz

I always called these Hell Hounds. They are annoying to deal with if not approached correctly. Here is a little tip. Whenever you interrupt them, they'll do their Hyperarmor slam attack. So it's best to get two quick hits in and retreat immediately. Due to them being Dog enemies they get thrown away by any sort of Firearm so shot them if you are In trouble. Hope this will help. These hounds gave me sooo much trouble the first time I went through the Dungeons.

"Yo guys lets give super armor to an incredibly aggressive, large enemy that has faster attacks than any of the player's weapons"

I've never had trouble with dogs before. Then these guys came with their *****ing poise and actually decent damage and health which were things not present with other dogs, not these guys though.

Why do they have more poise when standing on their hind legs??? Like sure a super realistic game is a boring game, but I why do they gain more poise while on their hind legs? Making it have a weakness while attacking would also promote an aggressive playstyle, which this game is all about. It'd also make them less annoying.

Don't dodge backwards from them like you would normal dogs. They'll bellyflop at you and stunlock you dead

The worst most stupid retarded piece of *****ing***** garbage enemy I've ever *****ing seen. Whoever made this up should just *****ing die.

When you're going to retrieve 200k echoes from a Snatcher in a CD but one of these things hits you in the back and completely erases your health bar

It seems that they don't have a return-to-last-position range. I've aggroed both in a dungeon and ran away from them for a long time until my stamina drained out. Tried to heal myself up and BANG!... they jumped right at me. I ran a lot more until my stamina drained all over again and there they were. Was low on health and they killed me.
