The Hateful Maggot is a vicious enemy in Bloodborne. It is often found in groups ready to ambush the hunter. Small and low to the ground, they are difficult to hit with many weapons, and will attack throwing themselves at the Hunter continuously.
Strategy
- Hateful Maggots writhe in the innards of Silverbeasts, and will emerge if the latter is killed by means other than fire or visceral attack.
- Dealing with their jumps and swarm is difficult. Using an AOE is effective only if you can point it to the ground where they are. Otherwise, slash weapons work effectively as thrust is likely to miss the mark.
- Will perform a small jumping attack that will add Frenzy. The attack itself isn't too dangerous, but the Frenzy can be deadly.

Be it an egg carrier or a silverbeast that spawns these little b*stards, they all need to die by fire.

Maggots ONLY emerge from Silverbeasts in Nightmare of Mensis and maybe some Chalice Dungeons BUT NOT Nightmare Frontier.

They do not cause frenzy build up and they are weak to blunt specially.

Killed a Silverbeast in Mensis with a tranformed Boomhammer R2, but these guys still spawned. Anyone know if the fire attacks got patched or is it something to do with the Boomhammer itself?

I wasnt getting the worms from silberbeasts at nightmare frontier and I was killing them with normal attacks using threaded cane and saw spear.

Removed the part about Frenzy damage, since they don't actually build up any sort of damage meter whatsoever.

I am not getting the maggots fighting Silverbeasts in Nightmare Frontier. Could it be due to using the Saw Spear? Adding Serrated to Fire and Visceral as methods of avoiding the maggots.
Should also be noted that this is before killing Rom.

Kirkhammer makes them trivial. Any other weapon, downright awful fighting these things
