Combat Information
The Watchdog is essentially immune to fire damage, boasting staggering fire defense. A lot of its attacks deal fire damage, in fact all attacks seem to deal fire damage, but they are all avoidable. So fire resistance, while helpful, is unnecessary. Ranged damage (Simon's Bowblade / Blacksky Eye) is effective in this fight. Saw weapons are also effective as The Watchdog's weak to Serrated.
When you enter the room it will likely use its charge attack so be prepared to dodge. It constantly moves toward you slowly so most of its attacks will be the Flame Swipe and Bite Combo. After using its bite combo, it will return to a neutral stance; you can use a vertical overhead attack to damage the crested plates on top of its head. After taking a few hits to the head, the defensive plate will become damaged and further attacks to this area will cause additional damage. If it does Flame Swipe instead, you can dodge through the flames, but if you are close to it, it will use the attack again with its other claw. It can transition into a Bite Combo pretty easily from Flame Swipe so it's best to dodge away and reset its and try for a Bite Combo. Because these attacks are very easy to avoid, this strategy is optimal. At 50% health it does its Explosion move which can kill you, if get caught in it.
It now moves at you much more aggressively and is just as likely to use Snapping Bites and its Bite Combo--generally it seems to use Snapping Bites if you are almost directly in front of it, so try to stay at its side to goad out a Bite Combo.
Keep trying to bait it into using Bite Combo and avoid its Explosion. When it uses an attack, you will see its throat swell up like a toad. If you hit it enough times while it's swollen, you will stagger it. However, if you don't manage to pull off a stagger, you'll likely get hit with its attack.
Strategy
- Striking its knees enough or hitting them with a strong charge attack will cause them to shatter, briefly stunning it. Attacks on a broken leg will deal increased damage, however breaking a leg will seem to increase the frequency of certain moves.
- Its head can also be broken with enough damage, causing it to take much more damage from attacks.
- While stunned be very careful that you don't stay too close to it. When it gets up it will do a burst of flame that deals high damage, followed by a charge.
- Always dodge in the direction that it swings its head.
- Alternatively, bait it to swing its head or bite, and then reach it by dash jumping, leave a couple swing before it slams the ground with AoE explosion.
- Be very careful when attacking it, because at any point an attack could trigger it to immediately cancel its current attack and perform a charge attack in front of it. Provided you're to the side and not too close to it, you should be safe
Easy Cane Whip (Whip Mode) Technique for Defiled Chalice Level 2 (By FalseShadows):
The key is to stay close, to only trigger its single sweeping bite attack. Watch out for the attack, evading accordingly (Backing a step or two should be enough, no need to jump backwards), as soon as the attack animation is about to finish (bringing its head back to normal position), do an R2 attack and IMMEDIATELY take 2 sidesteps to the right as it will do its Charge Attack. The Charge attack should miss and the lock-on might be disengaged. Face it lock-on and close the distance right away and repeat the attack luring. This is a guaranteed hit to the head every time, if the distance is managed correctly.
As you are approaching 40-50% HP mark, you will injure its head, marked by the animation. Notice that injuring its head increases the damage of subsequent hits dramatically.
After this, is when things start to get dicey. It will do a Flame Burst attack, which you can avoid by backstepping twice/thrice depending on your position in the arena; after the attack, it will start to move faster. The luring method is pretty much the same, except the enemy will start to chain its Sweeping Bite attack up to 3 consecutive strikes, depending on how close you are. You can still aim to hit after the first Sweeping Bite, but should the dog chain its bites, your attack will miss and you have a small window of time to backstep or risk being hit by the succeeding bites.
Luckily, the chaining of the bites are slow, so if you miss the first strike opportunity, evade the second and third sweeping bite and R2 strike as the third Sweeping Bite (The upward sweeping one) animation finiits and the attack should hit the head as normal. Remember to double/triple backstep once it starts to cue its Flame Burst (it changes its stance) it seems to do it more often as it is near-death. Repeat luring as soon as the Flame Burst finiits. It should be down in no time without you taking any damage. (Done at Lvl 127 with 35 Vit, 50 Skill and a +10 Cane Whip.)
Holy Blade+9 and Evelyn+9 strategy (by Mr. Fluffybottom)
This strategy yields the quickest damage that I've found (high skill + bloodtinge preferred). Lock on and stay in front of it. You will be focusing on its head. Keep Ludwigs Holy Blade in 1-handed mode for quicker attacks. Bait its biting attacks, paying close attention to whetits it is doing a single or double bite. Wait until the last bite and dodge-step forward and strike it once in the head with the holy blade. Backstep out of range and repeat. If you're quick enough and have its animations down you can usually hit it once, before the bite begins and again when it finishes. In between bites, it will occasionally try to pepper you with small fire blasts from its claws and mouth. Backstep repeatedly to avoid these and then return to baiting its attacks. It will also occasionally vomit up a puddle of magma.
As it begins gagging, you can rush in and hit it a couple times before backing off. Be mindful of the puddle's location afterwards as the damage and stun-lock from it will wreck you. If you have enough phys %-up gems on your holy sword you should be able to break its head in time for stage 2 by focusing attacks on it. When this happens, it staggers. Hit it no more than 2 times and back off. It will do an AoE attack upon stagger recovery, which can easily one-shot you if you get too greedy. It will now take increased damage from all attacks on its head.
Upon entering stage 2 (~70% HP) it will erupt flames from its body and become more aggressive. Its bites will often be a 2-chain instead of a single so watch for the telltale movement before approaching for a hit. In addition, it will begin including a 3rd bite attack occasionally where it will snap forward at the player in a diagonal motion. This always goes to the player's left, so sidestepping to the right allows for 1-2 hits before it pulls back. Its pepper breath attacks will happen more often now and include more hits, so watch yourself. Additionally, it will begin using is AoE attack occasionally instead of just when staggered. Backpedal when you see the cinders swirling around it or die. Finally, when it approaches stage 3 it will begin using a charge attack (the same attack it likely opened the fight with). It announces this by stopping, spreading its legs, and roaring. It then swings its head down and lunges forward. This is a do or die moment for this fight. You can avoid this by sidestepping to the right in the moments before impact. If you dodge too early it homes in on you.
Pay close attention to its movements when it sets up for the charge. As it roars and brings its head down, there's a slight pause whilst it tightens up its legs before lunging at you. Alternatively, for Arcane users, once it has 50% HP left, spamming A Call Beyond combined with the use of blood bullets will make this fight almost trivial.
Finally around 30% HP it enters stage 3. It erupts flames again and speeds up all of its movements. It will become extremely aggressive and begin charging more often. It will also begin using a more powerful AoE more often. It has more range than before. Backpedal as far back as possible when you see it charging it up. Being near the center WILL kill you. Its bite chain will always be 3 hits now and it will tend to use its fire blast attacks more often. They will have increased range and duration so be wary. At this point in the fight it may be wise to focus on shooting its head when he's walking towards you if you have any bone ash. This will speed up the last portion of the fight up. Beyond that, just keep peppering it with hits in between its attacks and you should be victorious.

Phase 1 | Interrupt | Notes |
---|---|---|
Swipe Bite | No | A series of wide, horizontal bites triggered when close to its front or side. The reach of this attack is deceptively large and is possible to get hit when in standing in flanks. |
Flame Wave Swipe | No | Left swipe sending a wave of fire outward. Quickstep eitits to the side or through the wave. |
Flame Bark Combo | No | Barks quick bursts of fire ahead. Back away during its long build-up to avoid this. |
Lava Vomit | No | Vomits lingering pools of lava ahead. Back away during its long build-up to avoid walking into the lava pools. |
Flaming Charge | No | Lights up and charges; quickstep to eitits side and out of its way. Hitbox is deceptively large and is triggered when entering boss room, cooperators should wait upon entering. |
Pounce Attack | No | Pounces from hind legs with heavy tracking. Dash or quickstep forward past it while it's airborne. |
Stomping Combo | No | Stomps multiple times with its front and hind legs when standing against them. Quickstep backward to avoid. |
Phase 2 | Interrupt | Notes |
Double Flame Wave Swipe | No | Same as the Flame Wave Swipe, but followed by a delayed second hit from the right paw. Quickstep left twice to move out of the second's range. |
Phase 3 | Interrupt | Notes |
Explosion | No | Absorbs heated particles before using a massive explosion. Gain as much distance possible by repeatedly quickstepping backward. |

The defiled chalice one is hands down the worst boss fight in the entire game

I usually don't write comments, but the guy writing the holy blade & evelyn: Thank you. The defiled chalice was a ****ing pain. The devs knew EXACTLY what they were doing when they put this abomination in a chalice with you being at half-health while buffing this **** to become one of the tankiest bosses in the game.

Defiled version is a pain. The best strategy for me was to stay in front of him, bait his easy attacks and hit his head as described here. Once you hit him a few times he will fall on the ground, hit him twice, dodge away. From that moment you will deal massive damage. I have a feeling he starts the one-hit-kill charge attack mainly if you go away from him, so try to just go forward, hit him, dodge 1x backwards, repeat. Learning the timings is the key here so dont be discouraged if you die a lot. A gamechanger for me personally was a switch from Ludwig's sword to Whirlgig saw. R1 of this weapon is perfect for this fight, you can hit him way more consistently. I couldnt do it with Ludwig but I did it with the saw easily. Good luck hunters.

I just beat the defiled version after countless tries. My strategy was to use untransformed +10 axe and stick pretty close to his left side. That allows you to dodge through most of his attacks and stay close enough to hit once, eventually breaking his legs. I let him have it during the vomit.
When you enter the room you can run directly towards him and use a R2 with the axe, if you are fast you can also do a R1 hit before having to dodge the charge.
Toughest boss so far because of the curse.

Just cant be greedy with this guy. Learn the tells for the charge and AoE attack and you should never get one shot.
I’d recommend finding a root glyph where he is the L1 boss and running that a couple times risk free to learn his moveset.

Anyone comparing this guy to Sif is crazy. Sif is a good boy who fights with honor... this literal b*tch in heat just knocks me over like a great dane running over a toddler to go get a ball someone threw, its bullsh*t. Dammit I hate this fight.

This boss can be either incredibly hard or trivially easy depending on how it's approached. If you try to stay close to it and fight it normally, you're going to have a bad day. However, if you stay a little bit in front of it at all times and bait out the bite attacks it becomes almost insultingly easy especially if you have an attack with long enough range (e.g. tricked hunter's axe R2, tricked cane jumping attack etc). You can remain outside of the range of the bite attack and just time your attacks to hit its head as its recovering from the attack. The only thing you really have to worry about with this strategy is the charge attack and the attack where he performs a rapid series of bites while moving forward (the latter is really only a threat if you're not paying attention). I went from losing to the defiled watchdog 50+ times to beating it first try once I switched to this strategy and I've never lost to it since.

You can't really hate him because his music is so goddamn good

This boss is actually really easy after a few tries cause he telegraphs his attacks so much and it's easy to bait him into doing his diagonal bite attacks. You just dodge, hit his head, dodge, hit his head, and repeat. 2 dodges to the side when he telegraphs the charge attack. Don't bother getting under him or going for the legs cause he has that bullshit AOE attack, but he'll never do it if you bait out the bite and the charge attack. Beat him aft 20 tries 30 vit 50 str 50 arc moonlight greatsword+10

After literally 1000+ chalice dungeons finished, this boss ain't that hard
but of course i understand why y'all hate it, first 50 times against that bad boy was annoying as ****
How do you dodge his long distance jump attack? That thing one shots me.
- Anonymous
I'ma be honest this fight is pretty easy. His attacks are very predictable and easy to dodge. Little weird that he becomes the tankiest boss in the game in the defiled chalice but it's genuinely not even a problem.
He also looks cool.

Nearly 2023, let’s do this.
If you have the dlc, level up Beasthunter Saif as much as possible and use it transformed. Phantasm Shell is your best friend since it all depends on your QS Bullets quantity. Olek is a good summon for distraction until he dies, I managed to get the boss to it’s 3rd stage fairly quickly before Olek died. Target the back legs as much as possible whilst Olek gets pummelled in front. Any chance you get once Watchdog is stunned, get at least one charged attack before booking it. Once Olek dies it’s all up to you to get behind the boss and repeat. PS, some of the Saifs attacks whip round the back of your character which can occasionally damage the Watchdogs head whilst you’re chilling near its legs. Not the best method but it’s one to try out.

Honestly, this is the only boss I have issue with. I just don't understand how to hit him. Whip strat does not work for me, I am almost always out of range. If he doesn't hit me I miss, if I hit him it's cause I got hit. It doesn't help this chalice nerfs my health. 99 points into Vitality for nothing.

Frustrating boss, but not that bad. Really nice song.
Tips that helped me out:
Play slow stay in front of him dodge backwards and don't proc legs before half health.

i killed it more than 50 times and it still annoys the **** out of me

This isn't fun. This is my last soulsborne game to platnum and the only other boss that has taken me multiple days was the Dancer of Boreal Valley, but at least that was a FUN fight to learn.
I know all the Watchdog's moves. I know the pacing. I'm using a long range lightning infused mele. I'm summoning the queen killer. None of this matters at all if he charges at the wrong time. 'Git gud' is a great feeling but it only works if you're the reason you're losing. This is RNG. The goal is to go the whole fight without his heavy attacks clipping you from five feet away. You'll come close, but eventually your luck runs out.
I have work in the morning. It sucks losing my free time to what feels like gambling.

FOR THE DEFILED VERSION:
I must have died 50-70 times. It was a complete nightmare and one of the hardest fights in the entire series. What eventually allowed me to do it was 3 things; 1: A Church Pick +8. IMO The Church Pick is the best weapon for the fight. Mainly because of it's super long reach, it's running R2 overhead attack and, for some reason, it's serration damage. If getting the DLC is an option for you, DO IT! 2. Empty Phantasm Shell and Bolt Paper. Bolt Paper works well but it's pretty expensive and is a pain to have to farm echoes when making many attempts. Phantasm Shell is unlimited and it adds just that extra bit of damage that really adds up over the long battle. 3. Practice. No seriously. Just doing it over and over and over until you learn the exact timing and spacing for every attack on your side and his. It takes a long time to get it down just right, but eventually it will become second nature and you'll get it right just by feel. Lastly, pray it uses it's charge attack as little as possible. 95-98% of my deaths were a 1 shot from that charge. Good luck! And do.not. give up
- Anonymous
I don't know if anyone will see this, but If you are running a STR build like me, +10 whirlgig saw does good damage, make sure to dodge left, and then left, if he does the attack going right and the followup. if he does the attack going left and the followup dodge right and right. For the charges (which will probably one shot you) dodge left. Target his back right and front left legs (opposite for you due to POV differences) Good luck Hoonters!
- Anonymous
Who wrote it drops 100k+ echoes?
In the first chalice available it drops 2,5k lmao
- Anonymous
Finally beat the defiled version after like 20-25 attempts. I was trying to beat it with +10 Chikage because I'm a bloodtinge/skill build. I finally beat it with serrated damage, I switched to the saw spear +10, which was way better for me even though it didn't benefit from bloodtinge scaling.
Takeaway: try with a serrated weapon if possible.

Choir Bell and Queen Killer strat works well. Be sure to use appropriate runes to increase maximum QS you have. If Queen Killer is being locked down, take the aggro and heal QK if he doesn’t have any vials left. I managed to keep him alive until the end by taking away the boss’s aggro and healing him constantly.
- Anonymous
Stay close. Roll left. Use a quick weapon on the back legs, jump back 3 hits after a limb break.
You can HEAVILY punish his lava puke attack if you can get behind him. 5-6 hits with a quick weapon on its back legs, then he'll usually break and let you get in another 3-4. I used transformed Rakuyo.
In defiled DO NOT summon Olek. He's not very good for this fight. He just unnecessarily boosts the boss HP, does very little damage, and dies too quickly.
If you want or need a summon, instead go for Queen Killer just to the left of boss fog. He's much more Tanky then Olek, has better AI, and does solid damage.
Make sure you always have full HP, and in his last (below 30%) keep your distance, and pick you attacks carefully, let summon do most of the damage for last 10% and use range (black sky, Brew)

Doing another play through, and decided to do chalices again. Defiled doggo had been kicking my butt for the past two hours. I’m using a strength build, so I tried beast claws at first (with the tune), but quickly gave up on that plan when I realized I couldn’t out dps this dog. I then switched to the Amygdalan arm, standing in front of him at all times and slowly hitting his head with the transformed attacks when it was safe. On his final phase, he was simply too fast and too aggressive for that tactic to work.
Finally, I switched to my final weapon, the Stake Driver. I applied the same tactic as with the Amygdalan arm, quick stepping up to the head and hitting once with either the slash or the thrust depending on which attack I was punishing, (rarely a second time) before back stepping and waiting for another opportunity. The head broke rather quickly, even after the doggo repaired it going into the final phase. The doggo RARELY charges at you if you go in for a single hit on its head. Far less often than if you attack the legs, and being in front of it, you’ll have no problem side stepping the charge if it happens.
The main takeaway: yucky puppy seems intentionally programmed to punish any aggression whatsoever by charging at you before, or right as, your attack animation finishes, preventing you from dodging in time. Hitting his legs seems to trigger this more often, and you wont have time to react fast enough to dodge it, even if you’re using a fast weapon, since you’re too close to his body.
This tactic required me to have aggro at all times, so I didn’t summon Olek or the Executioner. Hopefully this can be of use to somebody.
Additionally, for anyone who would like to know, my character is level 96, with 38 vit, 25 end, 40 str, and 26 skill.
Good luck beating danger doggo, everybody.

I'm at the end of my ****ing rope with this pos in the defiled chalice. I need to get to kill Queen Yharnam for one of the plat trophies and this chalice is going to be the death of me cause idk what other strategy I'm supposed to take. I'm BL178, 50VIT, 48Skill and some bloodtinge/arcane. Tried using my +10 Rakuyo but it does **** damage, Blades of Mercy are useless against a boss that can't be staggered and will 100% obliterate you at close range and now I'm using the cane at +7 and it takes ages to get through its armour (which regenerates at the start of every phase). I tried summoning the Queen Hunter outside the fog door but the AI is just way too reckless and it dies at ~50% hp, leaving me alone with an empowered boss.
Honestly the only other thing I've been thinking to do besides going into ng+ is either getting Choir Bell and try to keep the friendly AI alive as long as possible or get the Burial Blade and see if it deals more damage than the cane because I'm just about done with this.
Honestly I already hated chalices because the bosses are heavily uninspired and the fights drag on for too long at times. But this just puts the cherry on top for me and it just baffles me that people actually grind these for whatever reason.

Just beat him. Level 34. Saw spear. My tip bait the head swipe. Once he telegraphs it, quick step back, step forward and r1. I dodged all his attacks backwards. The spear gives you enough reach to react dodge out of harm's way.

What an extraordinarily boring boss. Epitomizes the design issues with the chalice dungeons; the mechanics of each boss are relatively straightforward but the punishment for mistakes is severe.

If you're a purist, your best bet is to take him head on, bait and outspace his bites and swipes, and punish with ONE hit to the head. It's absolutely a war of attrition, which is what makes this fight so frustrating. Bloodborne doesn't really give you the tools to play slow and attritionally.
If you just want to get to QY already, just summon Queen Killer, slap a bolt paper on, and DPS his legs non stop while watching aggro and dodging his AoEs.

Hello, this is 2021. I just wanted to add my 2 cents on this f***er.
I have a combo of chikage and simon's bowblade as my weapons of choice, running a level 144 skill and bloodtinge build. I must have tried around 30 times, never even gettin him to 50 %.
Now, I finally give up, I go and get enough precious ressources, including a blood rock, to get my cane to level 10 and use his waknesses against him.
And I got him in 2 tries. People, getting serrated damage and a long-ass weapon is the key. Skill will only take you so far, but thoses 2 will get you to victory. Trust me, I know.

Hello fellow Hunters , i'll give you the Best outcome Loadout for this nasty Watchdog Fight ( Specialy the Defiled Chalice Watchdog Boss where you have 50% Reduced HP/Health )... Ok so i call this the Anti-Nuke Loadout or Anti-One Shot considering you have Little HP no matter what BL you are anyways.. Ok so for the Loadout Weapon here , i use Ludwig's Holy Blade +10 with Evelyn +10 ( Ludwigs Holy Blade has to always he Short Sword Mode "Untransformed". For swift attacks & less Stamina ).... Your Gear/Armor should always be the Charred Hunter Attire/Set , use all Charred Hunter Set with the Hunter's Hat ( Charred Hunter Garb , Gloves & Trousers )... Okay now for your Runes , 1st Rune equip the Clock Meta for that "10% increase to HP" , 2nd Rune equip the Lake Rune for a "Physical Damage Red.+3%" , Final Rune should have to be the Great Lake Rune to sync with the Lake Rune & stack up ( Great Lake Rune is actually Manditory here , it gives "All Damage Reduction +4%" as it also strengthens your Arcane , Fire & Bolt resistences with also all Physical Damage Taken aswell.... Now with this Loadout you should have ( 304 Physical Damage Reduction as total , and a Solid 338 Fire Resistance with the Charred Set & Great Lake Rune ). This Loadout/Set will make your Hunter actually Survive a single Fire Nuke/Blast from the Watchdog Boss during the Defiled Chalice encounter. ( As Watchdog in Defiled also has insanely more HP rather than the normal Central Pthumeru encounter ).... Finally for the Cryll Rune , i always recommend going with the Hunter of Hunter's Rune you get from Aileen for that "Stamina Recovery Speed UP". ( With this loadout , that should make strafing & baiting attacks more forgiving while dealing decent quick damage in & out )... Now before i wrap this up , having Evelyn +10 also becomes handy during this Fight when you use it. Also grab the "Empty Phantasm Shell" to Buff your short Holy Blade with a good +80 Flat Arcane Damage.. ( Watchdog is also weak to Arcane & Bloodtinge keep that in mind ). For Items to bring , go with the Phantasm Shell for buffs & also bring alot of "Bone Marrow Ashes" these Bone Ashes will make Evelyn shots deal more damage , while also gives the probability to knock the Watchdog Boss's Head spot for weaken it... Aside from that , you should have a Total of 825 HP in a Cursed/Defiled Chalice instead of a 750 HP. ( Always equip Clock Wise Metamorphisis for that 10% HP or 15% HP if you already have it... The Great Lake Rune is also very needed in this Fight & also the fight before this Old Lord fight.. and finally Lake Rune for better overall Bonus Phys.Defense ). Goodluck Hoonters , this Loadout will Guarantee you from doing a much more easier or a Forgiving Watchdog Fight in this Defiled Chalice with a reduced -50% Health/Vitality.

This mother****er charged me 2 times in row! TWO ****ING TIMES! I got hit in first one and telling myself okay get up and back off real quick to heal, but no, literally the second i got up, this bullshit hitbox monster charged me again when I was literally next to him. This is the first ****ing time I see in a From Software game that there is not even a single second given to recover in a boss fight. Untested piece of ****.

Does anybody realize that this is the Sulyvahn Beast from Dark Souls 3? And it's literally in the name, "Watchdog of the Old Lords", and that "Old Lord" is Pontiff Sulyvahn.

Literally the only time I ever die to this jerk in defiled is when he does that quick snap bite combo. I think he’s doing a head swipe, but instead he does that crap right in my face and instantly kills me. Then it’s a d*mn twenty minute battles all over again. I hate getting one-shotted so much!

Defiled Watchdog of the Old Lords isn't as hard as everyone says. His attacks are very clearly telegraphed and easy to learn, and they have long wind-ups and swings, giving you ample time to dodge through them.
I will admit that this fight is frustratingly long and slow due to the large health pool. The strategy I used is to stay in close and constantly strafe left. Most of the time he will do a head swipe. If it's from your left to your right, dodge forward and left through it to his side. R1 once or twice depending on the speed of your weapon, then immediately backstep once to get clear of any follow up.
If the swipe is from your right to your left, dodge directly forward and R1 the head once, looking out for second and third swipes that you need to dodge through. Dodge left and back once he has finished the combo.
If he snaps multiple times, just dodge backwards once and walk back and left. He can't turn very well during this attack so he won't be able to hit you.
If he starts spewing lava, go up to his right side (your left), where you should have built up a lot of limb damage on both legs. Try to stagger him near the end of the attack to get maximum damage. As soon as you see him start to get up, back off. Keep strafing wide and the lava will be gone before you get back round to that part of the arena.
For the charge attack, he telegraphs it with a roar. As soon as he puts his head back down, he has locked on and is no longer tracking you. You will be able to sidestep once before he even starts charging and dodge the attack.

This guy and the two darkbeast bosses are just the twin kings of huge disjointed hitboxes and "weaken each limb" attack strategies

At the speed it walks toward you you can easily pull off a charged heavy with the stake driver which will also push you back out of reach of its attacks.

I would genuinely rate this as the hardest boss in the base game the first time you encounter it in a defiled. Don't know how many time times I died to the lunge as soon as I walked in due to poorly timed side steps.

For the defiled version summon queen killer he's outside the boss room. He's super good against it

Using the Chalice glyph bej77ini to farm blood chunks, killing the dog gave me a blood rock.
I used a phtumeru ihyll chalice.

My strategy was to stay in front of his head, bait the biting attacks, get killed repeatedly by stupid AOEs anyway, throw out my ps4, and promised to only stick to mobile gaming. This comment was sponsored by Raid: Shadow Legends

Like normal dog enemies? Well we made a boss out of one. Oh yeah it also is on fire.

This thing was a big, untested, poorly-coded pile of bull*****this was from basically telling you “hey, this is the part of the game where you waste a lot of time and resources, so have fun *****-face!”

Zerolenny beat the defiled version of this guy with the normal torch let that sink in

So you’re telling me that this guy has more health than even yhorm but you can’t even use a storm ruler oh well at least his defense isn’t that high

More deserving to hold the gold chalice dungeon trophy rather than queen yharnam
Why do chalice bosses give such a small amount of souls? The blood starved beast, which is the boss you have to defeat to obtain the chalice, gives you about 6500 souls and this guy only 1696? That's nonsense
