Clockwise Metamorphosis

A secret symbol left by Caryll, runesmith of Byrgenwerth.
The twisted cross means "metamorphosis."

Rotated clockwise, this rune boosts HP.
The discovery of blood made their dream of evolution a reality.
Metamorphosis, and the excesses and deviation that followed, were only the beginning.

Clockwise Metamorphosis is a Caryll Rune in Bloodborne.

Clockwise Metamorphosis Effects

Notes & Trivia

  • To memorize this rune, you must have the Rune Workshop Tool
  • Chalice Glyph: 9vb3tzza - Layer 1 pre-boss bonus area. Through the long corridor, then go down one stair and into the mid-level door. Run past the spiders and open the door on the left, the rune is in a big metal chest guarded by many spiders and a madman.

The cave where the 10% one is is next to where patches kicks you down. Don’t know why the guide doesn’t mention this

This rune and it's counter-part are sun-wheel references.
        With different blessings/meaning per clockwise/anti-cockwise.

Better guide to NIghtmare Frontier 10% rune: take the shortcut rock, then right over the bridge, then straight into the cave. turn right down the path before the giant. boom.

Look up a video showing the location of the rune in Nightmare Frontier because the directions on this guide have to be the worst I ever read. My god. There are multiple giants along the way to the ruin, so you’re gonna assume it’s the first one that you come across, but it’s nowhere near that one. Ffs.

Can you stack the 15% runes by making the dungeon that contains it multiple times?
I know you can stack the eye runes but I’m unsure if you can do it to this one as well

I can't find this mentioned anywhere, but without a clockwise metamorphosis I get an AR of 802 on my buffed tonitrus. But after equipping any clockwise rune it only gets up to 593. The effect is unnoticeable while not buffed.

Really early +15 one in Pthumeru Root Chalice Glyph: jgn2jkkw In pre-boss bonus area, run past the spider in the long hallway, open the door, drop off side to the right, (but only onto the second layer, not all the way down) go through the door behind you, and enter the door on your left, it is in a chest there guarded by 1 madman and roughly 5 spiders.

More Hp is good. But if the defense percentage is the same, then defense is better. For HP gains to be just as effective as defense percentage, then you need double the number on defense for HP. Example: Half damage = Double HP HP covers for what defense can't while Defense is twice as effective but cannot cover everything.

The Layer 1 boss-hall bonus room contains the Anti-Clockwise Metamorphasis rune, not the Clockwise one. That glyph gives you stamina, not health.

                      • The dungeon glyph for the (%15 clockwise metamorphosis) also contains the (+3 oedon writhe) in the bonus room after the chamber of seal before layer 1 9vb3tzza

This might be pure coincidence, but in the Cthulhu mythos, there's this thing called the Elder Sign.

There are several interpretations of it, one of which was the inspiration for the Caryll Rune "eye", but one of them is a 4 point star shaped similarly to a compass rose.

Priests who worshiped Cthulhu would draw this shape in the air with their finger, similar to the Catholic gesture for the Father Son and Holy Ghost.

It might be a stretch, but this looks kind of similar to that design. Food for thought, I suppose. :/

                          • so... why ould i use any of the damage defense runes when i can just use clockwise metamorphosis? is there some calculation i don't know about?

I generated a F/R/C Pthumeru Ihyll and found the +15% Clockwise rune in Layer 1 pre-lamp side area. The same chalice contains top-tier Heir rune in Layer 2 pre-lamp and a Great One Coldblood in Layer 2 main area, alongside a good amount of Ritual Blood (5) scattered throughout the dungeon. The first two bosses are among the easier ones. Dungeon is now public. Glyph: upe5fkqt

30% HP reduction was an awful idea. It's already easy enough for the host since they get to use their connection and have a helper(s), but this too? Stop messing up simple crap From Soft.

The location is correct, but it's in the Pthumeru Ihyll Chalice, not Root. :) Just thought I should point it out.

I have a level 99 vitality and the Rune doesn't seem to be working. It looks as if it just lowers my current hp without increasing the hp max. Anyone know what's going on?
