i did a new character recently as a fancy older guy w a beard for a bloodtinge build, and i couldn't quite decide on a look to go for until i realised the foreign shirt is actually super drippy. it works better for male characters, but it's also pretty flexible w what other items to pair it with. the knight's gauntlets look amazing they basically give you one glove under a sleeve then one full gauntlet that meshes well, and as for trousers the tomb prospectors are quite sleek but you can also do constable's for traditional suit pants (foreign pants look dumb w the suspenders imo and we need some defense somewhere anyway lol), then hats are basically any that looks fancy so top hat, maria's etc. for my older gentleman look i was using gascoigne's hat, foreign shirt, knight's gloves and the decorative hunter's trousers coz they give you a really cool looking leg brace which i thought suited my older character

In my first commited playtrough (the first that actually completed Chalices, Optional bosses, DLC and Normal Bosses), in NG+3 I found this set and since then always have used. (great for Skill Builds, also great damage and very good Phys Defense, but lacking arcane defenses, average-high bloodtinge defense):

I checked today for the first time ever the sets and weapons, checking if i had them in at least one of my players.
In 1.5k+ hours of playtrough, I never found the Gravekeeper Set, so without looking where it was i searchead it (figured out it was in the Forbidden Woods because it was the only area I always hate exloring) and found it!
So cool remembering all of these sets, and knowing now i have them all! Greetings Hunters

When I went to fight Logarius I put together a set that had the highest arcane defense while still having decent defense and came up with (fem character) Tomb prospector hood, black church garb, choir trousers, and gascoignes gloves. Turns out that looks cool as hell and I kept it for the entire rest of the game as well as my ng+ for that character

Agh, reading the wiki's just makes me realise how much stuff I missed. Just completed the game. I knew that new game plus was available but I didnt realize that I end up back at square one after I defeated the moon presence. I thought id still have access to all the levels I'd completed. Damn it. Still, amazing game. I dont see how first time players could see everything this game has to offer without a guide or walkthrough. It's so cryptic that just finding out what youre supposed to do next can be a 2 hour job of checking every piece of inventory and searching every crevice of the world map. Maybe Ill give it another run. Its a good enough game to warrant a lore run.

Some of my favorite fashion combos:

- Spooky crow reaper: Beak mask, Madman garb, Henryk's gloves, Yharnam leggings
- Dumbass: Enlarged head, Choir garb, Graveguard manchettes, Graveguard kilt (wearing Graveguard kilt with the Choir garb removes the kilt and reveals over-sized, floppy moccasins)
- The breadwinner: Top hat/Maria hat/Yamamura hat, Foreign garb, Knight gloves, Gehrman's trousers
- Dignified hunter: Maria hat, Hunter garb B, Old Hunter gloves, Maria leggings
- Scarecrow (AKA "Hunter of Hunters of Hunters"): Bone Ash mask, Gehrman's garb, Henryk's gloves, Henryk's leggings
- Nasty beast: (Equip "Beast's Embrace" Oath) Any hat and gloves will do since they'll be hidden, no top, Bone Ash leggings. Some tops make it look like your chest is still normal when in beast form, but removing your top altogether reveals the rest of your malformities.

{ Female characters }
- Historically-accurate plague doctor: Beak mask, Black Church garb, Choir gloves, Black Church skirt (best with Threaded Cane)
- "The Raven": Beak mask, Black Church garb, Choir gloves, Knight skirt

I've read that you can't upgrade armor in Bloodborne. Is this true? Or is it just weapons that can be upgraded?

This is missing the madman armor set dropped from a boss in one of the Chalice Dungeons. After defeating him, you can purchase his armor at the insight traders. It looks like pyromancer armor from Dark Souls but with a weird tentacle warped around the chest piece.

there is also a dingy set in that place were you're spirited away to yahaguls unseen village, you can get it by takeing an alternate route to the elevator, located across from the door surrounded by beer, it consits of a sweaty shirt and a frumpy hat

i know we don't have heavy im talking in general, the variety of armor seems limited too seeing how many sets are just alterations of the base so not counting small changes we have 24 amours to even darksouls 1s 29 when not even counting heavy armor AND WHY DID THEY GET RID OF IT!?, it worked well in demons souls and they could have just made you move slower, akin to lead elixir if they want to reinforce using it sparingly, when wearing lots of heavy armor but no. there are so many limitations in this game ONLY THESE WEAPONS CAN BE EQUIPPED ON THIS HAND, it makes the smaller weapons seems even more minuscule, i know alot of combos arnt VIABLE but it would be FUN to run around with dual stake drivers, or dual cannons they could just geep left hand weapons in their base state, make kirk and ludwigs just a straight sword, and only have left hand weapons do light attacks, like in ds 1 i just feel so gypped with this game, and i want to love it so much but i feel so limited, but it makes me sad because one thing that almost never changes with patches and updates, is mechanics....i dunno i love this game, sorry for the rant, i know this isnt a forum, i just got heated. maybe one of you guys can give me some hope.

I know this is only somewhat relevant, but what real world style of hat is the Wolf Cap or Hunter's Cap? The Yharnam Hunter's and Henryk's Cap are similar to tricornes. Would they be the same?

I use the bone ash set it reminds me of Big Hat from dsouls but with a tiny wizard hat and an undead warlord feel to it. Wish there was more armor like that

One the one hand, no more emphasis on stats means you can preety much wear what you like and you'll still be effective ... On the other hand ... holy moses the armor variety in this game is ass. Trenchcoats, come and get your trenchcoats! It's the post apocalypse cliche boutique, come and get all your brown and black trenchcoats ... For the love of god, here's a small test: do a fast scroll through this page, not lingering on specific sets, and at a quick glance tell me how many unique and easily recognizable armors you can pick out. I did 4: Generic black/brown trenchcoat, pseudo-medieval armor, light armor with whitch hat, dress. Come the ***** on ... Add to that insult the fact that those *****ing chest pieces are literaly the entire outfit, with whatever the hell gloves or boots you wear rendered mostly irelevant, and this game is preety much dead when it comes to costume customization. Everyone is eiter dude in trenchcoat number 5297 or werid hat dude. A shame really ... something that so clearly takes inspiration from lovecraftian mythos to limits itselft to such drab and generic victorian clothes when the posibility for eldrich horror and inhuman outfits exists ...

Attire has one hidden machanic that i know of, im not exactly sure about the scaling but im positive it exists. It effects the damage on your viceral attacks. Im not the type of person to crunch numbers, but someone who enjoys this should look into it because no one has done any resaerch on itand everyone likes to be the first;D it also makes me wonder if there are any more hidden effects of attire, i feel like this shoudl be looked into:D

Certainly the game could include a few more attires. There's surely the lore there to support it. A Pthumerian set of attires could work, maybe more heretic set designs or an awesome set based on skined werewolf fur, with the face appearing semi hidden between gaping jaws of a long dead prey.

If you look at the hole under the mask you can see your character has no neck. It looks like they just remove the body entirely when you put on clothes that cover the full body. It's much easier to see when you wear the attire in the game. This must have been an oversight I guess ...

Really wish they had more actual armor in this game, like some chainmail and scaled armor. They have that Cainhurst silver armor and Yhar'gul helmet, so it is possible to have metal armor and still be light. I want that chainmail armor those Pthumerian warriors have.

Can we get a dedicated page to display all the attire stats in a single table? The closest to this that I've seen on the wiki is a recommendation table for different defense types.

All of the individual attire pieces have the wrong symbol for fire def. They have fire_atk.jpg instead of fire_def.jpg. I started changing it until I realised every single one is affected. Can a Mod or someone fix this easier than editing each page individually?

Honestly, there really aren't many armor sets in the game, so what's a hunter gotta do to look good? Combine armors. I've combined some already, but I wanna know what other people have come up with, but there's not many YouTube videos on the topic. So, list your custom armor combinations! I'll start, my favorite armor in the game is by far Ghermans battle set, but you can't get it. So I tried my best to recreate it: - Head: Top Hat - Arms: (Any gloves that match, personally I got with cainhurst gauntlets for my personal touch, but tomb prospector gloves work really well) - Chest: Charred Hunter Garb - Legs: Tomb Prospector Trousers (or add your own touch) As long as you have the top hat and the charred set on, your armor should look relatively similar to his. (Besides the red tint, but oh well, close enough)
