Bone Ash Mask is a Head Armor/Attire in Bloodborne. It is part of the Bone Ash Set.

Bone Ash Mask Information

" A mask made of bone ash, worn by the oldest keepers.
The keepers, who mind the slumbering Great Ones,
gained eternal life, preserved in ashen form in
a ceremony of flame that cremated body and soul.
The long, pointed hat is a symbol of the old keepers
and is considered evidence of their companionship,
forged in a certain sin."

i inadvertently made this helmet ten times cooler by making a character with a massively over-sized nose so now it looks like a chainmail beak mask

"The long, pointed hat is a symbol of the old keepers and is considered evidence of their companionship, forged in a certain sin." Something about that phrase 'a certain sin' sounds telling. What might that particular sin be / have been? Are we given enough information to make an inference? I realize it could merely be a reference to the ritual of eternal life explained in the paragraph before it, but the phrasing really makes it sound like this 'certain sin' is referring to something else. This text also seems to be an acknowledgement on the writer's part that the design is based on the "pointy witch's hat" trope, which (I suppose) could also be the prime reason it was included. I dunno, was anyone else's curiosity particularly piqued by this tooltip? Anything we can learn about the deep past of the BB universe intrigues me, for while we know so little of it concretely, it really seems like we're given lots of clues to sift through in some of the game's finer details.
