The Makeshift Altar allows one to connect to other players' Chalice Dungeons after obtaining the Short Ritual Root Chalice. Once a dungeon is found a Chalice is placed on the altar and becomes permanently accessible until removed.
Notes
- Acts like a matchmaking service
- Can be used to join a friends' dungeon with the use of a password
- Does not consume Materials

Am I wrong or does using the Makeshift Altar not consume materials? Also, does anyone know if you're able to access dungeons you wouldn't normally be able to enter by using this altar?
