what was the writer of this page cooking when he said salamanders were related to fire? i'm no history guy but ik historically salamanders have nothing to do w fire, nor do they in general since they're amphibians, and neither do the vilebloods. to my knowledge salamanders were popular among french nobility and were possibly a symbol of the royal family iirc (ik it from a fantasy book written by a historian not from firsthand knowledge so im a bit hazy). so if they have any relevance to the vilebloods it's just to draw more comparisons to the european medieval nobility they're likely based on, and to compare them to the french in particular since stereotypical ideas about the french nobility are that they were particularly classy and refined
