Gatling Gun is a Firearm in Bloodborne. It was added with The Old Hunters DLC expansion

Gatling Gun Description

"This is a highly-customised, portable version of the stationary gatling gun operated by the old hunter Djura in Old Yharnam.
It was the weapon of choice of the youngest of Djura's three companions.
The Gatling Gun boasts exceptional rapid-firing functionality, but is considered a cumbersome weapon, due to its excessive weight and insatiable consumption of Quicksilver Bullets."

Player Notes

  • Bone Marrow Ash currently is not worth applying.
  • Shoots roughly four bullets for every quicksilver bullet consumed
  • The bullets spread out over a distance, making it more practical to use it closer in.
  • The bullets can also stagger and knock back most humanoid opponent.
  • Extremely useful in narrow areas, pushing Djura off the tower and staggering Gehrman, The First Hunter in his first phase
  • A +7 Gatling gun with a decent gem can do between 2 and 3 thousand damage with its 20 quicksilver bullets, good for finishing off a boss or certain kinds of enemies. It's also a good weapon in co-op for pulling aggro away from allies.
  • Martyr Logarius and Gehrman, The First Hunter's second phase can deflect firearm bullets, rendering the Gatling Gun useless.

I would dispute the Player Note that Bone Marrow Ash is not worth applying. One buff applies to every round from the gun as long as it fires continuously.

Not the best or most useful firearm, but definitely the coolest and most fun to use.

        I like the Gatling Gun.

Love blasting larger bosses like Amygdala in the face with this thing. Then instead of taking the visceral just keep holding down L2 to rub it in.

Only "D" scaling at +10? I wonder if instead of using "Blood Attack+" gems if "Scaling+" gems would give better damage?

            • Anonymous

It definitely shoots more than 4 bullets per quicksilver bullet, was someone trying to make a weirdly specific TF2 reference?

Guys, I think something's wrong with my game, I picked this damn thing up and now my character won't stop babbling about sandviches

Some great Tips regarding Gatling Gun :

1- Use Bone Marrow Ashes ( They're definitely Helpful as long as you keep Holding/Shooting Bullets from this Massive Machine Gun.... Or else if you stopped , apply the Bone Ashes again for the limited stream of Bullets ).

2- It's better to equip Formless Oedons for extra Quick Silver Bullets + , rather than Oedon Writhes visercal atk Bullet gains... This is because Cannon's usually go well with Oedon Writhe Runes.

3- Put a great Bloodtinge Stat level up if you want some good damage with this thing , Cannon's dont usually need that High Bloodtinge levels but this thing needs indeed.

4- I just found out a really smart Badass idea when wielding this weapon , ( First you want to Poison your Boss Enemy , this works on all Bosses like Gascoigne , Maria , Gerhman , Bloody Crow of Cainhurst , Logarious , essentially any Humanoid Bosses or NPC Hunters ). While being Poisoned by Poison Knifes , patch up your Gatling Gun with a Bone Marrow Ashe then go BBBRRRRR!!! This'll easily deal 10K-20k Damage...

5- Lastly , another alternative method for Killing mostly Huge Kin Bosses ( Like Rom , Ebrietas , Amygdala , Cleric Beast , Laurence , Loran Silverbeast etc ). This method requires you both a fast weapon like Church Pick , Threaded Cane , Saw Cleaver with the Gatling Gun ( First Buff up with Fire Paper , then throw off an Oil Urn... then wack off the Bosses for good damage , then as you about to finish up. Patch a Bone Marrow Ashe into the Gatling Gun and shoot it up untill you Win!!! ). Goodluck , these are pretty crazy hardcore methods very useful for specialy fighting Chalice Bosses & DLC Bosses with the Gatling Gun... Enjoy hope this helps ;)

The best part about Old Hunters was the abundance of STR weapons. Mainly because of how the base game lacks many STR-type weapons. But in OH, you get them in spades for all sorts of builds. STR/BLT with this and the Bloodletter, STR/ARC with the Holy Moonlight Sword, or just pure STR

Some people coming about how this uses silver bullets like there's no tommorow, but that doesn't bother me. I rarely parry and I'm tired of it saying "you cannot pick up any more of this item" whenever I try to pick up bullet drops.

                      • If you have trouble killing the hunter to get this weapon, just equip the Impurity rune and summon Valtr from the entryway to the Laurence fight. Assuming you haven't killed Laurence yet, it makes this trivial.

Gank idea: BLT build using this, fists and Gratia's fist L2. Have your companion in choir garb and no headgear. Have him constantly buff you with choir bell and defend himself with a pistol or cane while you shoot away. Ubercharge cosplay. Bonus: have another guy spam piercing rifle from far away via monacle wearing the yamamura hat

I am heavy weapon guy, and this... is my new weapon, she weighs one hundred and forty two kilograms in weight and Fires 200 custom made cartridges... it cost 400 thousand dollars to fire this weapon for twelve seconds.

The funny thing about this weapon is that the real life Gatling gun was specifically named after its inventor, Richard Gatling. So did the American Civil War exist in Bloodborne's universe? or was there just some Oto Workshop inventor named Gatling? IS LINCOLN IN BLOODBORNE

99 Bloodtinge and a 31.5% Cursed gem on this thing +10 and the AR is 331.
It's a very efficient use of bullets. With just 5 blood bullets I can do over 2k damage.

the tracking is great and keeps opponents on their toes, It compliments perfectly with a bloodletter build. I've killed plenty just by unleashing this beast alone.

No idea what I did wrong here. I've done literally nothing different from the last 5 times I went for this weapon. The NPC that drops it doesn't spawn for some reason. If anyone knows why this is, please help.

Highly useful against this guy. Numbing mist is highly recommended too as he tries to get away and heal once under half health. Basically, just don't let him get up from beast roar and hammer into him with a fast thrust weapon with bolt or fire added.

I swear, one of these days I'm gonna insert an armored core disc by accident. Not that I will complain about it.

So I assume that someone has already taken the initiative to make a Rambo build, using only fists, beast roar and gatling gun. And that their character looks like Sly.

just a quick review; works great pvp and pve, fair bullet consumption. Great for stunlocking small enemies and PC hunters alike, keeps opponent well on their toes when they try to back up for health or quarter. With Bloodletter and Madaras Whistle, it's fun build. Also you can slowly move toward them while you unload and quickly follow up a combo while they're stunned

Is it just me, or do the beast behind the minigun hunter just ignore him when they're brought to each other (Iike luring the beasts to him)?

                                              • Anonymous

Just found an easy way to defeat hunter holding this gun. Especially if you proceed with DLC using new char. Once you enter the cave jump to the right, behind the rock, so it separates you and hunter. While he will be walking unleashing volleys of bullets, just walk along the stone so you are always on the other side of him. Quickly, he will "loose" you and return to his initial spot. This is the time to silently walk behind him and perform backstab. As he recovers, just run behind the column and repeat. For me, 2 viscerals put him to ~50% health. He was not healing so far. Then I did final third visceral, that left him with ~30-25% life, and this time I did not run away but pressed on him with his saw cleaver, and he was gone :) Hope it might help someone
