Npc fights in fromsoft games are usually either way too easy or the most frustrating parts of the game. Most of the hunter fight are the latter, I just don't get why they put these fights in a game that has such great combat with enemies, they should have actually designed the hunter fights like enemies with interesting movesets you could respnd to, instead they just gave them infinite stamina and ammo and it's extremely unfun to fight a majority of them.

At the end of the hunter’s nightmare the female white church hunter drops 10 bullets and the female black church hunter drops one madman’s knowledge

Chalice dungeons has hunters too like Cainhurts hunter. He has Chikage and Evelyn rip if your blood defense is low

The Yahar'gul Hunter with the Rifle Spear is just flat out the most irritating enemy to fight. If he's not peppering you with Ludwig's Rifle every 2 seconds he'll do it with the Rifle Spear itself instead and though it doesn't do much damage, it's just so annoying trying to close the space on him just to have him running away all the time.

I adore this game, but the NPC hunter fights are absolutely terrible. From just decided to give them giant health pools, overpowered guns that hit like they have 99 BT, and infinite ammo. Oh, and the proclivity to spam the ever living **** at you with said overpowered gun. The rifle spear hunter is one of the worst fights I have ever experienced in a From Software game. 24/7 unashamed gun spam, calling it obnoxious would be an understatement.

Programmer: Miyazaki, our dark master, our good, hostile Hunters are ready. They are nimble, devious, merciless and full of nasty tricks. They crave the blood and tears of our fans. Is there anything else we can add to keep the fighting fair and just?

                Miyazaki: "Give them unlimited ammunition!"

I've got a cheesy strategy for the three hunters in Yahar'gul:

                      1. Make sure the scourge beast-thing in the lowest level of Yahar'gul Chapel is dead, and open the door to the cell you get dropped off at when the Snatcher drags you to the Hypogean Gaol.
                      2. Sneak up on the hunter on the spiral staircase, give him a visceral attack, and you'll probably have time to finish him off with a charge attack followed by an R1-combo. This will likely aggro the other two hunters (not always, I've found), so run back down to the lowest level and into the cell.
                      3. Shut the door from the inside and wait for Dumb and Dumber to appear. They'll both try to fight you through the bars of the cell, but they're too stupid to know how to open the door.
                      4. Equip a ranged weapon like the Threaded Cane or Beastcutter and smack away to your heart's content, lob a molotov or Accursed Brew when they get close, or spam the Flamesprayer or Rosmarinus. Be careful of the Rifle Spear poking through the bars, and also for the Tiny Tonitrus that occasionally clips through the barrier, but for the most part, this method provides near-perfect protection. If you didn't manage to kill the first hunter, be careful of their Threaded Cane, but you should still have enough room in the cell to distance yourself from all of their attacks. They should go down ridiculously fast.

                      Prison is awesome.

I find that playing against the beast claw hunter in the nightmare: best strategy doge, doge behind him, hit a few times, back away and repeat

What about the Beast Claw hunter in the Hunter's Nightmare, in the area resembling the second Lamp's area? That guy has killed me eight times, and I have no way of beating him.
