Righteous or Church weapons are a subgroup of the regular weapons in Bloodborne. They deal additional damage to the "enemies of the Healing Church". The other "hidden" damage type is "Serrated Weapons"
Weapon forms that count as Righteous:
- Church Pick- 20% bonus (both modes)
- Holy Moonlight Sword- 50% bonus (both modes)
- Kirkhammer- 50% bonus (sword mode only)
- Ludwig's Holy Blade- 50% bonus (both modes)
- Logarius' Wheel- 30% bonus (both modes)
- Threaded Cane- 20% bonus (cane mode only)
Enemies that are weak to righteous damage
- Bloodlicker (Bloodsucking Beast)
- Gargoyle (Lost Child of Antiquity)
- Silver Lady (Bound Widow)
- Vengeful Specter (Evil Labyrinth Spirit)

Pretty obvious the limited use of this goes hand in hand with the cut content nature of Cainhurst.

This, IMO, is the biggest letdown of the game, and IMO, bloodborne is the greatest game of all time. ALL of these enemies weak to Righteous weapon barely even exist in the game, you almost NEVER encounter these enemy types. You might see a Vengeful Specter once in every 5 dungeons, its meaningless to have additional dmg verse these enemies, theyre also weak af. Compared to Serrated Weapons, Righteous Weapons have next to no benefit.

Kinda disappointing that a lot of enemies from the old hunter dlc aren't part of this. Especially the ones in the fishing hamlet as they seem particularly against the ones in byrgenwerth

I think it's supposed to be sort of tongue in cheek. The "righteous" Healing Church who are totally the good guys who absolutely don't conduct brutal experimentation on living people think they're better than the relatively harmless Vilebloods.

It looks like most enemies that are effected most by it are found in the Cainhurst area

Church pick is the best overall. All the rest can go home (holy moonlight is dope though).

The church pick has both “holy” and “serrated” in both forms(in both modes), does that make it good?

The only one I don't get in the Threaded Cane. Literally all the other righteous weapons have some kind of connection to the Healing Church, except the cane.

I think Rom has some susceptibility to righteous weapons. I've used threaded cane against this boss and it seemed to go much better than most weapons I've tried. Interrupted the teleport with regular attacks and one cycled it.
